Felis catus is your taxonomic nomenclature...

Yesterday I found myself rubbing my cat’s tummy and telling her out loud a list of diagnostic anatomical features that convince me she can be classified as a felid.

I’m not sure what the implications may be for the famous xkcd Cat Proximity graph.

It may not fit the intelligence curve, but it probably fits the inanity. No prediction is perfect, after all. :-)

Marvelous photo and you know I’m a sucker for gray cats.

So are you saying you got this tendency from Data or not? Or do you just expect your readers to recall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SySZdvsFYt4 automatically? Or did you complete steal this title from your subconscious? If we hadn’t been rewatching these recently I don’t think I would have noticed at all.

Evan — I wouldn’t say I got the tendency from him. Her anatomy is so adorably specialized! And I’ve read a good book on felid evolution and ancestors! But yes, I was quoting his verse, and I thought some people would notice ;)
