(I suggest loading up on raisins and broccoli to raise your iron levels. I don’t know if this really works, but I’ve been iron-ful the last few times, although historically I’m a little woobly. Genetics?) So then I go BACK three months later to give blood AGAIN and they’re like, in the last year have you been to: outer Zambezi, inner Poohoori, or Mekka Lekka Hi Mekka Hiney Ho, and I’m like, OK, I went to Tulum. There were Mayan ruins there. And they’re like, Whoa-HO, girlfriend! ANd I’m like, Dude, you took my blood in March two months after I got back, and they’re like, well they probably added Tulum to the malaria risk area list (say it together kids, MALARIA AREA) after March. So they DON’T take my blood and they have to go CALL UP the poor chillblains what got my March blood to tell them to be wary of malariaria symptoms.
And now I don’t work across from a bil-dang which regularly schedules blood drives. So I prolly won’t give for a long time, but I couldn’t until January 2004 henny weigh.
That’s all I have to say about that.
sister sledgehttp://faerye.net/post/phlebotomy#comment-555Admirable persistence2003-09-17T14:23:22+00:002003-09-17T14:23:22+00:00
I would give blood too, were it not for the European, CJD-infested, virus-spawning soup I call my blood. You see, I might be a mad anonymous cow (muhahahahaha!), so they won’t let me in for a sacrificial blood-letting with the rest of the natives. It’s tough to carry the curse of this tainted soul of mine – do you ever get used to being taboo?
GreyStorkhttp://faerye.net/post/phlebotomy#comment-554You've got patience2003-09-17T13:36:55+00:002003-09-17T13:36:55+00:00
I would’ve said “screw it” after the first wrong turn.
wonko
