As my earlier friend post indicated, I tend to err on the side of not-friending, because I don’t want to put people on the spot. So for what it’s worth, that’s my way. It may be a slightly low-self-esteem way, but it’s my way and by gum, I have a justification that makes it sound considerate!
Felicityhttp://faerye.nethttp://faerye.net/post/graceful-exit#comment-2307You inspire me to ask..2008-07-28T21:38:04+00:002008-07-28T21:38:04+00:00
When must you friend? So often I’ll see a “friend” of a friend, and feel some silly karmic obligation to say “oh, hi, my life is richer for having known you way back when,” (though with a little less cheese). Must those people be friended, or is it okay to send a hello without friending someone?

Good idea on the tapering mechanism by the way. I hope some of the sites mentioned pick up on the idea!
Grizeldahttp://faerye.net/post/graceful-exit#comment-2306re: But, but, but2008-07-28T16:54:24+00:002008-07-28T16:54:24+00:00
That’s why I propose the system confirmation. There are definitely folks I myself like keeping the sneaky passive eye upon ;)

Maybe I should just make a big blanket announcement: Defriend me if you want to, I shan’t hold it against ye!
Felicityhttp://faerye.nethttp://faerye.net/post/graceful-exit#comment-2305But, but, but2008-07-28T15:20:27+00:002008-07-28T15:20:27+00:00
Some of us still feel that connection, regardless of how well we express it.
Novel
