January 23^rd – but that aside, what I think I meant was that my Amazon wishlist bears a character of being a list of things I would get in the very unlikely event that I had unlimited funds. I do, occasionally, get some of the stuff on there for myself, but with the current rate of accretion, I will surely need a better paying job to chew my way through it. Besides, there are things that make me happier than stuff you can get from the vaults of Amazon. :o)

Well, you’re not alone, if that’s any comfort. This morning I sat and fiddled a bit with my camera, when something struck me. I wandered into the living room and had a long stare at my bookshelf. No books on photography whatsoever. Huh. The result speaks for itself. I think at this point my Amazon wish list has taken on the proportion of “what I’ll buy, once I win the lottery”. Ah, the joys of wistful [sic] thinking. :o)

Not all of it’s like that! This morning they did a piece on John Kerry’s high school garage band. Also, an opinion piece about how while we are at the 40th anniversary from the Beatles Landing, we are at the 30th anniversary of the worst pop music year evar. I laughed a good deal.

Also, you know me, my habits, and how much money I manage to save each month. Can I really afford a minimum of 2 more CDs each month? And, frankly, two CDs added to wishlist from ONE HOUR? This seems a bit much!

I think your stomach lining is much more valuable than a few classical CDs.

A few months ago, I listened to NPR during my commute for about a month. Then I decided that I was better off not listening to NPR. Here is my reasoning: NPR tells me about terrible things that are happening far away. Knowing about these things make me less happy, but these things have little to no bearing on my life, for the most part. Those bits that do, are usually reported by Google news, which I scan through at least once a day.

So, I listen to CDs during my commute. I think it’s made me a happier person.
